Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 29, 2026
Republic Insights, LLC, doing business as Lantern Strategic ("Lantern Strategic," "we," "us," or "our"), respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit lanternstrategic.com, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. We collect as little as possible, we host our own analytics, and we never sell your data.
The short version
- Our website analytics are self-hosted on our own server (Matomo). Your visit data is not sent to Google or any advertising network. We anonymize IP addresses and our analytics set no cookies.
- We only collect personal details you choose to give us — by submitting the contact form or signing up for our newsletter.
- We don't sell your personal information or use contact-form details for unsolicited sales emails.
- You can ask us to access or delete your information at any time — see Your rights.
Who we are
This site is operated by Republic Insights, LLC, doing business as Lantern Strategic, an operations and technology consulting practice based in Nebraska, United States. For any privacy question or request, reach us through the contact form.
Information we collect
1. Website analytics (Matomo)
We use Matomo, an open-source analytics tool that we host ourselves on our own server. Because it is self-hosted, your analytics data stays on our infrastructure and is not shared with any third-party analytics or advertising provider. Matomo helps us understand which pages are useful so we can improve the site.
It records, in aggregate:
- Pages visited and the time and date of the visit
- The website or link that referred you here
- Approximate, anonymized location (we anonymize IP addresses)
- General device, browser, and screen information
Our Matomo is configured to anonymize IP addresses and to operate without cookies. Because of this, our analytics do not require a cookie-consent banner under typical interpretations of GDPR/ePrivacy rules.
2. Contact form
When you submit the contact form, we collect the information you provide: your name, company (optional), email address, phone number (optional), and your message. We use this solely to read and respond to your inquiry and to manage our relationship with you as a prospective or current client. We do not add contact-form submissions to a marketing email list.
To deliver and manage these messages, we rely on:
- Web3Forms — delivers your submission to us by email.
- Make.com — passes your submission into our CRM.
- Capsule CRM — where we store your details so we can follow up on your inquiry.
3. Newsletter signup
If you choose to subscribe to our newsletter (for example, via the signup that may appear after downloading a diagnostic), we collect your email address and use it only to send you our newsletter. Subscribing is optional, and every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link. We use Transpond to manage newsletter subscriptions and delivery.
Cookies and local storage
- Analytics cookies: none. Our Matomo analytics are configured to run without cookies.
- Functional browser storage: we store a single value in your browser's local storage to remember that you've already seen (and dismissed) the newsletter popup, so it isn't shown repeatedly. This stays in your browser, is never transmitted to us, and you can clear it any time through your browser settings.
- Advertising / third-party tracking cookies: none. We do not run ad networks or cross-site trackers.
Service providers we use
We share information only with the service providers needed to operate the site, and only for the purposes described above. Each maintains its own privacy practices.

How and why we use your information
For visitors in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, our legal bases under the GDPR are:
- Legitimate interests — for privacy-friendly, aggregate analytics and for responding to inquiries you send us.
- Consent — for sending you our newsletter, which you may withdraw at any time by unsubscribing.
- Performance of a contract / pre-contract steps — when we use your details to discuss or provide our services.
Data sharing and sale
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We disclose information only to the service providers listed above, or if required by law.
Data retention
We keep contact and CRM information for as long as needed to respond to your inquiry and maintain our business relationship, and newsletter information until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is retained in aggregate to track trends over time. You can ask us to delete your information sooner — see below.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access the information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your information
- Restrict or object to certain processing
- Receive a portable copy of your information
- Withdraw consent (for the newsletter) at any time
EEA/UK (GDPR): you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
California (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request its deletion, and to not be discriminated against for exercising your rights. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under California law.
To exercise any of these rights, reach us through the contact form. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
International data transfers
Some of our service providers may process information in the United States or other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers. Our analytics data, however, remains on our own self-hosted server.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's privacy
This site is intended for businesses and professionals. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.
